The Ilula Orphan Program has an ongoing need for funding for its many evolving and expanding projects. There are a variety of ways to support the IOP, including a general donation, sponsorship of a staff member, sponsorship of a student, or support for a specific program. Please see the various programs and initiatives you can donate to below.

Donation Options

  • General Donation: These funds will be used in areas that the IOP Tanzania staff has identified as having the greatest need. Donations in this area help preserve the ability of IOP to respond to priority programs and emergencies most effectively.
  • Student Assistance Fund: Every year, hundreds of students are in need of sponsorship while others lose their sponsors through no fault of their own. Student Assistance Fund temporarily provides student fees for unsponsored students, including aid to students going to university or college. This is an excellent alternative for people who want to support a student’s education but do not have the ability to commit to annual sponsorship.
  • Sponsor an IOP Staff Member: With over 20 programs support thousands of vulnerable children and their families, the IOP relies on the dedicated work of over 80 staff members. These employees volunteer many hours beyond their contractual obligations. By sponsoring an IOP Staff Member, you will help guarantee the salary of an employee and their ability to support his/her family.
  • Individual Programs & Initiatives: Please specify the specific program you would like your donation to go to (i.e. Ilula Orphan Center, Foster Family Program and Ilula Tiger Sports Club). Current priorities for funding are the Foster Family Program, which has experienced a drop in donor support in 2015, and construction at the Lord’s Hill High School, including the Multipurpose Hall which is necessary for conducting national exams in Fall of 2015.
